What millwork means here
Millwork is custom-milled wood—molding, trim, shiplap, and handrails—cut to a precise profile. It is how a new room is tied to an old house, and how a coastal renovation keeps its lines honest.
How a millwork quote is built
Pricing has three parts: a one-time machine setup fee, knife grinding if a custom profile is needed, and a per-linear-foot run charge based on board width, plus the lumber. Any species from poplar to walnut to sapele can be run.
Match-to-sample is normal work
Bring a piece of existing trim. The shop specializes in matching style, species, and finish so repairs and additions do not announce themselves.
